Oracle Got Breached – But They’re Saying “It Wasn’t That Bad”

What Happened?

Hackers broke into some of Oracle’s systems, and Oracle says these were just “obsolete servers” (old and no longer in use). But a hacker is claiming they breached Oracle’s actual cloud platform and stole millions of user records.

🔐 Oracle’s Claim

Oracle insists their main product, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), was not affected. They say no customer information from their active cloud was touched, and all important systems are still safe.

🧑‍💻 What the Hacker Says:

A hacker using the name “rose87168” posted on BreachForums saying they stole:

  • 6 million records
  • From 140,000+ cloud tenants
  • Containing usernames, passwords, full names, phone numbers, and emails
They claim this info came from Oracle Cloud itself, not old systems.

😕 Why People Are Confused

  • Oracle keeps saying, “It wasn’t our main cloud.”
  • But some of the leaked data is from 2024 and 2025, which doesn’t sound like it came from outdated servers.
  • This makes experts question Oracle’s story.

🧐 What Experts Think

  • Cybersecurity pros believe Oracle might be using careful wording to downplay the situation.
  • Calling hacked systems “obsolete” may be a way to avoid admitting their real cloud platform was breached.

⚠️ What’s the Risk?

  • If the stolen data is legit, it could:
  • Damage Oracle’s reputation
  • Cost affected companies money
  • Be used in phishing attacks or scams
  • The breach impacted multiple countries, not just one region.

Stay tuned. If more evidence supports the hacker’s claims, Oracle could be facing a much bigger problem than they’re letting on.
